Normally Closed, Zero-Differential Anti-Siphon Valve for High-Flow Fuel & Coolant Systems

The Morrison Bros. 710 Series 3-inch solenoid valve delivers fail-safe anti-siphon protection on the dispensing side of fuel system pipelines, blocking accidental product loss in the event of a downstream fracture below the tank's liquid level. The valve stays closed until triggered by an electronic signal (such as a pump or dispenser switching on), and its larger 3-inch bore makes it a strong candidate for high-flow isolation duty in data center liquid cooling infrastructure where it can protect CDU manifolds and coolant reservoirs from catastrophic drainage during a power loss or emergency shutdown event.

The cast bronze body carries FKM seals rated to a maximum fluid temperature of 302°F (150°C) and accommodates liquids up to 60 centistokes viscosity. The hung piston design actuates at zero pressure differential, ensuring dependable operation in low-pressure or gravity-fed loops without relying on system pressure to open. Integrated thermal relief vents expansion pressure back against the flow direction to protect upstream components from pressure spikes. Note that the 3-inch model has a lower maximum operating pressure differential of 45 PSI compared to smaller sizes in the 710 Series. Verify this fits your system design before specifying.

Key specifications:

  • Connection size: 3 in. NPT
  • Orifice size: 3 in.
  • Operating pressure differential: 0–45 PSI
  • Maximum fluid temperature: 302°F (150°C)
  • Minimum operating temperature: -40°F
  • Power consumption: 48 watts
  • Dimensions (710-0300): 8.8 in. L × 9.5 in. H × 4.5 in. W
  • Must be installed horizontally with solenoid coil upright and vertical
  • 100-mesh inlet strainer required to protect piston assembly from particulate contamination

NOTE: Product can only be pumped in one direction, the direction of the flow arrow. Not designed for use as an overfill prevention or process control valve.

Features

  • Normally closed, hung piston design
  • Install in a horizontal pipeline in the upright vertical position
  • Zero pressure differential
  • Integral thermal relief allows the valve to relieve expansion pressure in the opposite direction of flow
  • Continuous duty Class H standard coil operates at 120 volts
  • Enclosure is watertight and rated for hazardous locations—NEMA 3, 4X, 7 and 9; groups C and D
  • Several optional coil voltages available
  • 710MO has manual override feature. Available in sizes ranging from ¾″ to 2″ for operation during a power outage
  • Recommended for use with liquids having a maximum viscosity of 60 centistokes
  • A strainer with a 100 mesh screen is recommended at the valve inlet
