Normally Closed, Zero-Differential Anti-Siphon Valve for Fuel & Coolant Systems

The Morrison Bros. 710 Series 2-inch solenoid valve provides fail-safe anti-siphon protection on the dispensing side of fuel system pipelines, preventing accidental product loss if a downstream fracture occurs below the tank's liquid level. The valve remains closed until it receives an electronic signal (like a pump or dispenser switching on) making it equally well suited as an isolation point in data center liquid cooling infrastructure, where a normally closed state protects CDU manifolds and coolant reservoirs from draining onto active IT equipment during a power loss or emergency shutdown event.

The cast bronze body carries FKM (Viton) and PTFE seals rated to a maximum fluid temperature of 302°F (150°C) and handles liquids up to 60 centistokes viscosity. The hung piston design operates at zero pressure differential, making the valve reliable in low-pressure or gravity-fed loops without requiring system pressure to actuate. Integrated thermal relief bleeds expansion pressure back against the flow direction, protecting upstream components from pressure spikes. Choose the 710SS stainless steel variant with PTFE seals and a 356°F (180°C) temperature rating for glycol-based or treated-water coolant loops.

Key specifications:

  • Connection size: 2 in. NPT
  • Orifice size: 1½ in.
  • Operating pressure differential: 0–105 PSI
  • Maximum fluid temperature: 302°F (150°C)
  • Minimum operating temperature: -40°F
  • Power consumption: 30 watts
  • Dimensions (710-0200): 5.9 in. L × 7.0 in. H × 2.25 in. W
  • Must be installed horizontally with solenoid coil upright and vertical
  • 100-mesh inlet strainer required to protect piston assembly from particulate contamination

NOTE: Product can only be pumped in one direction, the direction of the flow arrow. Not designed for use as an overfill prevention or process control valve.

Features

  • Normally closed, hung piston design
  • Install in a horizontal pipeline in the upright vertical position
  • Zero pressure differential
  • Integral thermal relief allows the valve to relieve expansion pressure in the opposite direction of flow
  • Continuous duty Class H standard coil operates at 120 volts
  • Enclosure is watertight and rated for hazardous locations—NEMA 3, 4X, 7 and 9; groups C and D
  • Several optional coil voltages available
  • 710MO has manual override feature. Available in sizes ranging from ¾″ to 2″ for operation during a power outage
  • Recommended for use with liquids having a maximum viscosity of 60 centistokes
  • A strainer with a 100 mesh screen is recommended at the valve inlet
