3-Inch Stainless Steel Normally Closed Solenoid Valve for High-Flow Fuel, Chemical & Liquid Cooling Applications

The Morrison Bros. 710SS in 3" NPT is the largest threaded configuration in the 710SS series, engineered for high-volume flow isolation with a CV of 93.60 and a maximum operating pressure of 45 PSI. The lower pressure rating relative to smaller sizes reflects the hydraulic realities of large-bore piping. At 3", this valve is best suited for main facility fluid headers, large CDU primary loop connections, bulk chemical transfer, or petroleum product pipelines where flow capacity takes priority over high-pressure service. In data center liquid cooling, the 3" size is typically specified at the facility infrastructure level: primary coolant mains, thermal plant connections, or large immersion cooling system supply headers where high flow with minimal restriction is called for.

The aluminum piston on the 3" model (versus stainless steel on 1"–2" sizes) is worth noting for engineers specifying immersion or corrosive fluid service. Be sure to confirm fluid compatibility for that wetted component. The 304 SS body and PTFE seals remain standard, providing the same corrosion resistance and chemical inertness for glycol, DI water, and dielectric fluid circuits as the smaller sizes. Power consumption increases to 48 watts at 3", and the valve requires the same horizontal pipeline, upright vertical installation as all 710SS models. The integral thermal relief and zero pressure differential hung-piston design also carry through to this size.
