1-1/2-Inch Stainless Steel Normally Closed Solenoid Valve with PTFE Seals for Fuel & Coolant Systems

The Morrison Bros. 710SS in 1-1/2" NPT is a normally closed, hung-piston solenoid valve suited for mid-to-high-flow fluid isolation on fuel system pipelines, chemical transfer lines, and data center liquid cooling infrastructure. With a CV of 17 and a maximum operating pressure of 105 PSI, the 1-1/2" size is well-suited to CDU headers serving multiple racks or zone-level isolation in larger direct-to-chip cooling deployments. It remains closed at rest and opens on signal (from a pump controller, dispenser, or BMS) providing fail-safe shutoff that blocks siphoning if a downstream leak drops pressure below the liquid level.

The 304 stainless steel body and PTFE seals make this valve compatible with deionized water, propylene and ethylene glycol blends, and dielectric fluids without risk of galvanic corrosion, zinc stripping, or elastomer degradation that would contaminate cold plate micro-channels. The integral thermal relief function automatically relieves expansion pressure in the reverse direction of flow, protecting piping between two closed valves from pressure spikes during heavy compute loads. This 1-1/2" valve is a common choice for secondary loop isolation at the facility level where flow requirements exceed what a 1" valve can handle but full 2" porting is unnecessary.

Key specifications:

Features

  • Normally closed, hung piston design
  • Install in a horizontal pipeline in the upright vertical position
  • Zero pressure differential
  • Integral thermal relief allows the valve to relieve expansion pressure in the opposite direction of flow
  • Continuous duty Class H standard coil operates at 120 volts
  • Several optional coil voltages available
  • Enclosure is watertight and rated for hazardous locations—NEMA 3, 4X, 7 and 9; groups C and D
  • Recommended for use with liquids having a maximum viscosity of 60 centistokes
  • A strainer with a 100 mesh screen is recommended at the valve inlet
