Extended-Length Sock Screen Gasket for High-Particulate Sanitary and Liquid Cooling Applications

The Rubber Fab 1-1/2" x 6" sock screen gasket inserts into the I.D. of sanitary tubing to provide inline filtration with significantly more capacity than conventional flat screen gaskets. The extended sock-shaped 316 stainless steel mesh delivers up to 5 times more open area and soil collection capability, making it well suited for high-particulate process streams where maintaining flow rate is as important as removing contaminants. The metal base is impulse-welded to the mesh for a tighter seal and easier gasket replacement. With an EPDM seal and tri-clamp configuration, this unit meets ASME-BPE standards and U.S. Pharmacopeia Class VI requirements, covering pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and data center liquid cooling installations where pump protection and fluid purity are critical.

In data center cooling loops, sock screens reduce pump wear and burnout by intercepting particulates before they reach impellers or cold plate micro-channels, and the large open screen area extends service intervals. This reduces downtime and change-out frequency compared to standard inline screens. The low pressure drop design is appropriate for high-volume coolant circulation systems running chilled water or glycol.
