Morrison Bros. 244 Series 6 in. Male Threaded Emergency Vent Description

Emergency vents are installed on aboveground storage tanks to meet code requirements and allow high-capacity pressure relief in the event the tank is exposed to fire. When internal tank pressure reaches the vent’s set opening pressure, the weighted cover lifts along the center pin, allowing excess pressure to safely escape. As pressure drops, the cover automatically reseats on the vent body, resetting the vent without the need for manual intervention.

This UL Listed emergency vent is designed for pressure relief only and helps prevent tanks from becoming over-pressurized and potentially rupturing during fire exposure. It must be used in conjunction with a normal vent to ensure proper tank venting. Vent capacity is measured in CFH (cubic feet per hour) at 2.5 PSI.
