The Jabsco 18680-1000 reversible rotary vane pump is ideal for transferring diesel fuel. The pump is self priming up to 3 ft. (1m) and can pump against a discharge head up to 20 feet. It has an integral on -off reversing switch, it is ideal for moving fuel between port and starboard fuel tanks. The pump must be mounted in a dry location, the motor is not waterproof and must not be submerged. The unit can be mounted in any position, with the pump mounted with the fluid dripping from a loose port connection won't wet the motor.
The 18680-1000 pump ports have an external 1 in. (25 mm) hose barb and an internal 1/2 in. (13 mm) pipe threads. Use a hose that does not kink when bent and that it has a sufficient wall thickness to prevent collapse when used on the suction side of the pump. Hoses should be routed so the fluid will be retained in the pump body to wet the rotor and vanes to aid in priming. Use a mesh strainer on the intake hose if trash or solids are present in the fluid being pumped, the fluid may contain debris or contaminants.
All hoses must have air-tight connections to enable fast priming.
Warning: Do not use any Jabsco pump for petrol, petroleum products, or any products with flash point below 98°F (37°C), explosion or death may occur.
Explosion Hazard: Do not operate with rivets removed from motor case. Case openings must be sealed to avoid explosion and maintain ignition protected rating. Explosion resulting in personal injury, death or property damage can occur.
