Easily lifts and transports drums. Designed for drums with chime and closure ring design with sufficient strength to support the load. Handles fiber drums and will work on certain plastic drums if the drum lip supports the weight of its contents. Fast, easy one-person fork truck installation. Drum handler mounts quickly to the forks and is secured into place by turn-down bolts. Fork pockets 6 3/8"W x 2"H, ID on 26" centers for single-drum unit and 24" centers for double drum unit. To operate, fork lift driver approaches drum with mast of truck tilted slightly forward. Jaws open as you lower unit onto drum. As the forks are raised, jaws automatically close over the rim and tightens the grip. Drum is now securely held by the jaws and can be transported. To disengage, the fork lift driver lowers the drum into the position required, jaws automatically open and release as you set the drum down, tilt mast forward, and simply back away.
